Recruitment Executive

How long have you worked at Admiral?

I’ve worked at Admiral since October 2011! I spent 10 months as a Sales Representative before I was promoted to a role where I spent half my days coaching and developing a team and the other half helping our UK customers to buy our insurance. About a year later, I was promoted as a People Services (HR) Business Partner which I did for about 3 years and I’ve recently taken on the position of Recruitment Executive.

Describe what you do.

I am the first point of contact for career seekers. I handle all phases of the external recruitment cycle from attraction, screening, and bringing in motivated candidates. I help with onboarding and ensure that Admiral Halifax always has top talent coming in. I also help with internal recruitment as most positions are filled from within.

What attracted you to Admiral?

I was originally attracted to Admiral because of the incentive opportunities.  I’ve stayed because of the advancement opportunities and because of the fantastic group of people I work with. I could never have imagined what starting at Admiral would do for my career when I first started and I’m so thankful for the trust Admiral has in my potential and abilities.

What’s your greatest success to date at Admiral?

My greatest success has been discovering my passion for HR. In previous jobs I was always on the management track and I had never anticipated or considered this career path. I’ve found my niche at Admiral and I love what I do.

What kind of person succeeds in your role?

Someone who is approachable, positive and driven by excellence and success.
