About the Job – Senior Actuarial Analyst

In measuring probability and risk, our Actuarial department play a vital role in our business's success.

Our ideal candidate is a high-achieving, analytical thinker comfortable communicating technical results with senior management and non-technical colleagues. This position requires an individual to manage multiple assignments concurrently and demonstrate the ability to complete work with minimal guidance.

Analysts work with the Pricing, Actuarial Science and Data Science teams. Pricing analysts train closely with local team members and learn from Elephant’s parent company, Admiral Group plc.

In addition, Elephant provides Actuarial Exam study hours and exam assistance. Our investment in your career will allow you to grow as a subject matter expert who will help drive and promote actuarial work across the business and maintain our position as market leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the Actuarial team to forecast loss development.
  • Producing pricing proposals for senior management, including implementing and testing new pricing factors and assisting with filing and actuarial justification to state regulators.
  • Collaborating across departments to understand data, interpret and communicate findings.
  • Performing ad hoc and recurring analysis across diverse datasets to drive and measure performance.
  • Applying machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques to improve business practices.
  • Managing data architecture and data integrity for the department.
  • Creating and updating management reporting.

Desirable Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related business or quantitative discipline.
  • 2-5 Years of Experience.
  • Experience with actuarial software, ResQ, is highly valued.
  • Computer programming knowledge and experience (ResQ, SAS, R/Python or other programming languages).
  • Understanding of databases and SQL is a plus.
  • Strong Word and Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated intent or progress on Actuarial Exams, having passed two or more Exams.
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary, Benefits and Work-Life Balance

We do not have a set salary for this position, as it will depend on the successful candidate’s experience. We are happy to see CVs from all candidates who meet the requirements and will gladly discuss the remuneration package.
