December, 2016 marked the end of an era at Admiral Halifax.
Vice President, Alex MacDonald, the man who opened Admiral’s first satellite office in Halifax and the site’s fearless leader since 2007, said goodbye as he began the transition into much deserved retirement life.
For close to a decade, Alex was instrumental in leading the Halifax operation and steering it in a direction that mirrored the cultural uniqueness of the UK operations. During Alex’s tenure, the Canadian office grew from a dozen employees to over 400.
Alex was also at the helm for: Admiral's designations as one of Best Places to Work in Canada in 2014 and 2016, multiple regional employer of choice award wins in Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada and for Admiral's nomination as a finalist at the Halifax Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Awards in 2015.
As a token of Halifax’s appreciation, Alex was gifted a photo memory book spanning his near 10 year career with Admiral and also given a WRU jersey signed by Jamie Roberts – his favourite rugby player.
