How long have you worked at Admiral?

I started in the Customer Loyalty department on November 22, 2010.

Describe what you do.

As the Cyber Security Canada Lead, I support the expansion of our Cyber Security team. Besides talent acquisition, I build the bridge between our Canadian colleagues working remotely and our UK Cyber Security teams, providing local support. Every day brings something new and challenging, offering plenty of opportunities to learn.

What attracted you to Admiral?

 I was between jobs and looking for a new career direction. Admiral was meant to only be a short stop on my journey but quickly became the career I was actually looking for. Once I experienced the culture, the people, and the opportunities I knew I was in the right spot.

What kind of person succeeds in your role?

Someone who is adaptable, loves a challenge, wants to help people, and isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and jump in where needed. You must also have a thirst for knowledge and learning due to the dynamic nature of the business.

When you tell people about your job, what’s one thing that surprises them, or gets them excited about the work you do?

People are always surprised when I tell them I work in human resources due to the fact that I don’t look and dress like what one would think a traditional human resources person would. It says a lot about Admiral that it embraces differences and individuality.
