Describe what you do.
As Halifax's Admiral Academy Trainer, I am responsible for the coaching and development of our frontline employees and site leaders. I will develop and lead training sessions on a variety of subjects like performance management, communication in the workplace, stress management, etc. The Admiral Academy ensures our employees are growing and developing within their current roles but also prepares them for professional progression.
What attracted you to Admiral?
For me, Admiral was originally a 'tide me over' job. What kept me here was the opportunity for growth and advancement demonstrated by the company's inclination for internal promotion. I've always been customer focused - both internally and externally.
What’s your greatest success to date at Admiral?
In 2016, I was successful in my application for the Admiral Academy trainer position which formally established the Academy function in Halifax. Since then I've completed a graduate degree in executive coaching at Royal Roads University which was paid for by Admiral and allowed me to better develop staff and effectively lead creating coaching culture.
What kind of person succeeds in your role?
Someone who is passionate, collaborative, adaptive to change, genuinely interested in the success of his or peers and the company on a whole.
